Cascading Dropdowns in Smart Forms

Modified on Tue, 17 Dec, 2024 at 2:30 PM

Cascading Dropdowns is ideal for displaying Hierarchical relationships such as Parents and Grandparents on smart forms.

For example: A Smart form has a group called Site Location. In this group you choose a city from the dropdown list, on that selection, the State, Country, Sub-Region and Region fields of the smart form will auto populate.

In the Administration of Cora, there must be a dropdown list for each: City, State, Country, Sub-Region and Region, once these dropdown lists are created, the Administrator can configure Cascading Dropdowns and create the list structure and map the relationships. Alternativity an Administrator can export and import the Hierarchy for the Cascading Dropdown structure too and error handling will indicate if something is wrong.

Supported Features: Works with Visible, Allow Changes, Calculated Field, and Workflow options.

Hierarchical Search: For the Cascading Dropdown field, select the "Search via Hierarchy" option.

Popout Modal: This will open a modal that allows users to select values within the Cascading Dropdown structure using "Search via Hierarchy."

Value Selection: Users can choose each level of the hierarchy, such as Parent and Grandparent values, directly from the Cascading Dropdown structure.

Display Saved Values: Once saved, the selected Parent and Grandparent values will appear (assuming they have been set up as Dropdown List functions in the Smartform).
