To create a matrix, the register must be configured with two single-select drop-down fields to represent the x and y axis of the matrix, for example, Probability and Impact.
Each drop-down should be associated with a custom list that contains the corresponding number of entries to represent the columns/rows on the matrix.
- Click Add to display the add register modal with an empty matrix
The fields in the configuration are:
- Name – This is the name of the matrix that will be displayed to the user when selecting a chart type in the widget (see below)
- X Label – The label that appears on the x axis
- X Dimension – The number of columns on the matrix (max is 10)
- X Field – The single-select drop-down that is used to set the X axis value for the entry. A calculated field that is mapped to a drop-down value list can also be used.
- Y Label – The label that appears on the y axis
- Y Dimension – the number of rows on the matrix (max is 10)
- Y Field – The single-select drop-down that is used to set the Y axis value for the entry
Set the values and click SAVE, the graphic will update to match the values set:
- Link each cell on the matrix to a set of values and set the colour for the cell.
- Click the cell to configure it
The cell is mapped to a value from the drop-down associated with the x axis, the drop-down associated with the y-axis, given a score and a colour. On saving the cell values, the graphic on the add matrix modal is updated:
