Project Requests & Templates

Modified on Thu, 28 Nov, 2024 at 1:33 PM

Introduction

Project Request refers to the process of creating a new project within Cora PPM using pre-defined templates.

Many organizations require a standardized project creation and intake process. This may vary by the type of project being requested.

Cora PPM can be configured to provide numerous templates for end users to select from when creating a project within Cora PPM.

This ensures that each project generated will contain the information required for the project to be run correctly.

It is important to use templates in Cora PPM as they:

  • Save time when adding new projects to the system
  • Provide consistency across all types of projects run in Cora PPM
  • Ensure that projects are in the correct folders after creation
  • Ensure that the project has the artifacts required to commence once created
  • Improve data quality

Templates

Project templates can be pre-populated with project information, such as project type, Gantt charts, access rights, key project details, and more.

Selecting these templates in the project request will save the project manager time in setting up new projects within Cora PPM.

Information available within the project in Cora PPM may differ between templates.

A larger project may mandate the completion of many fields of information, whereas a smaller one may not require this.

Cora PPM can be configured to display as much or as little information, depending on the project template used.

An organization may run multiple programmes within Cora PPM. Projects in these programmes might have different requirements.

The template can come pre-configured with tags and details.

An example:  An engineering Project may run with a four registers and highly detailed Gantt Chart whilst an IT project may have only two registers visible and a smaller Gantt Chart.
