Add Task

Where the WBS is blank, there will be the quick option to select “Click here to add your tasks" This will allow you to add multiple tasks.


Otherwise, you can right click on the task you want the new task to fall beside and click Add Task.



  • The system will show a template box, requesting simple details relating to the new task.
  • Choose where you wish the new task to fall, i.e., at the same level or as a sub task.  
  • Select a suitable name for the task and input duration and suggested start date.
  • You may also assign a resource to this task at this point.
  • Select OK.



In this example, the added task becomes a subtask of task 1, e.g. in the diagram below, task 1a is added as subtask of task 1.


Add Multiple Task

This option allows the user to add a number of tasks, at the same level or as sub–tasks.


  • Right click the task you wish to add multiple tasks to and select “Add Multiple Tasks”.
  • The add multiple tasks box will appear.
  • Select the level where the new tasks should appear and input the task details.
  • To navigate down the template, you can use the tab key on your keyboard.
  • When added, select OK.

 


In this example, the additional tasks are added with IDs 3 to 6.


Add Recurring Task

A recurring task might be something that needs to happen weekly/monthly during the project lifecycle.

  • Right click the task you wish to add the recurring task beside. 
  • The data entry screen will appear.
  • Select where the new tasks should appear, whether at the same level or as sub-tasks.
  • Enter the name of the recurring task.
  • Select the frequency of the task using the option in recurrence pattern and range of recurrence.


The recurring task will be displayed with the recurring task icon as below.
