Adding and hiding column headers

  • Right clicking on column headers gives you the ability to add or hide columns as you see fit.
  • Clicking Updatable Columns will display only the columns that can be updated.
  • Clicking Minimum Columns will display the minimum columns necessary.
  • Clicking Reset Columns will reset the selected columns and their widths.

Rearranging column headers

Columns can be adjusted to suit your needs. Simply drag and drop the column header to where you would like it to be repositioned.

Sorting by columns

Tasks in the Gantt can be sorted. To sort tasks, click the column header once to sort in ascending order and then again to sort in descending order. Click the header again to remove the sort.

This feature allows users to easily put the next to start tasks or the highest priority tasks at the top of the task list.

When sorting tasks, the task hierarchy is maintained. In the example above, the sub-tasks are sorted within their parent tasks and then the parent tasks are sorted.

Note:  The Info, level, successor and predecessor columns are not sortable. Only one column may be sorted at a time.

Column Configuration

The options for column configuration in the Gantt have been updated with previous usability issues addressed.

Users can now:

  • Add and remove multiple columns in one action
  • Set the column order more easily
  • Resize any column
  • Set all the columns to their default widths
  • Clear the sort order

Column settings are still accessed by right clicking on the column header row in the Gantt but now users are provided with three options:

Reset Column Widths. Sets all the columns to a default width.  The default is either the width of the column header or the width of the content whichever is the greater

Reset Sorting.  Clears any sort order applied and re-display the tasks in id order

Configure Columns.  Opens a modal from where the user can select and de-select columns:

Increase Custom Gantt Columns

Feature Description

Increase the number of Custom Columns on the Gantt.

  • This default is 20 but this can be overwritten at the DB level by request.
  • The popup to add/update a task custom field will be modified to display the max number.
