Task Calendars

Modified on Mon, 25 Nov, 2024 at 4:20 PM

Cora supports the use of different calendars for different projects, and extends that functionality to allow a different calendar to be used on individual tasks.

This allows for better scheduling of projects where some of the work is carried out in different regions or areas.

Note: By default, task calendars are not enabled. Task calendars must be turned on by your administrator.

Once enabled at a systems level, task calendars can then be turned on or off at Project level.  This is done in project properties.

Once enabled the calendar for an individual task is set in the Task Manager or in the Gantt Columns grid.

Note:  You will have to turn on the column in the grid (using the right click on the headers       ).

The calendar can be changed using in-line editing.  In this example we are changing Test 2 and Test 1, to weekend work.

The Gantt will automatically update to reflect when the 5-day work will be completed based on the only working days being Saturday and Sunday.

The calendar for a Task can also be updated in the Tasks Updates screen.

Because the task details page supports the bulk editing of tasks, this is the best time to update the calendar if you need to change the calendar for several tasks at the same time.

Important Note: If task calendars are turned off, either at project level or globally and there are tasks using a different calendar, those projects will be rescheduled to use the project calendar.

The “Enable Task-level Calendars displays how many tasks are using task-level calendars.

If you un-check “Enable Task-Level Calendars and click SAVE, the following warning notice will be displayed to the user advising them of the potential impact on the schedule.
