Automation and Monitoring of Import Services

Enhancements have been made to improve visibility of File Import Services. The key changes include:

• A new Role called ‘File Import’. A Non-Admin User with this Role has access to view the File Imports Page. This page is visible to them on the ‘Management’ menu. 
• Addition of a ‘Pulse Time’ on the File Imports Page. This displays the last time the Import Service checked for new files. If the last pulse time is greater than 5 minutes in the past this is displayed in Amber. This is an indication that the service may have stopped.
• Addition of a new column to the File Imports Grid. This column is named ‘Rows Processed Time’ and it displays the time the latest row was processed in a file. This is useful for large files which take longer to process as it lets user see ongoing activity in a file. If this time does not refresh and the import has not finished it is an indication that there may be a problem with the import.
• Display order on the page is changed. Updated order is:
  1. Files being processed are displayed first
  2. Files waiting to be processed are displayed second
  3. Files already processed are displayed last

These updates facilitate better visibility into File Import activity so that a user can spot issues faster and keep the right people informed.
