Registers in Cora PPM are configurable data grids designed to capture repeatable project information, such as Risks, Issues, Actions, or Change Requests. Think of them as smarter spreadsheets inside Cora that roll up to dashboards and reports.
Registers help you:
- Track project details in a structured way
- Standardize logs across projects
- Avoid duplication of effort by using built-in reporting and dashboards
What You Can Do with Registers
- Create and manage entries
Add, edit, or delete register items (based on your access level). - Use dashboards and reports
Each register automatically creates widgets and reports for tracking. - Sort, filter, and group data
Save and share filtered views for consistent reporting. - Roll up data
Register items roll up from Project → Program → Portfolio dashboards. - Link items
Connect register entries to other registers or Gantt tasks. - Attach documents
Add files to entries and share them via email with stakeholders. - Enable workflows
Apply approval steps and version control (commonly used in Change Requests). - Access anywhere
View and edit registers in the mobile app and portals.
Types of Registers
Administrators can configure registers to fit project needs. Common examples include:
- Risk Register – track project risks with likelihood/impact scoring
- Issue Register – record and manage project issues
- Action Register – capture tasks and follow-ups
- Change Register – log and track change requests
- Decisions Register – document project decisions for traceability
- Lessons Learned Register – capture insights for continuous improvement

You can import register data from Excel (fields must match). Import only open items (e.g., active risks or actions). - Standardize dropdowns
Use custom dropdown lists to enforce consistency and improve reporting. - Use workflows wisely
Automate approvals or handoffs, especially for Change Requests. - Leverage dashboards
Widgets are more flexible for analysis than static reports.
Example Configurations
Risk Register
- Use a matrix widget to display risk impact and likelihood.
- Standard setup: 5x5 risk matrix (3x3 is also supported).
Change Request Register
- Add workflows for review and approval steps.
- Link change requests to related risks or actions.
Lessons Learned Register
- Encourage teams to capture items at project closeout.
- Roll up lessons across programs for portfolio insights.
Tips for Administrators
- Fields – Add or rename fields (text, numeric, user, date, dropdowns, calculated fields, task list links). System fields cannot be deleted but can be renamed.
- Groups – Organize fields into logical groups and columns for easier navigation.
- Attributes – Enable features such as comments, document distribution, linked items, mobile visibility, or archive options.
- Dropdown Lists – Create standard lists (e.g., risk severity, issue status) for consistent reporting across registers.
- Widgets – Configure summary or trend widgets for dashboards.
- Matrices – Define scoring systems (e.g., risk likelihood vs. impact).
