Properties Page — Tab & Field Reference

Overview

The Properties page is the central configuration screen for a project in Cora PPM. It organises project settings, costs, stakeholders, strategic links, and financial data across a series of tabs. Not all tabs are visible to every user — visibility is controlled by a combination of system feature toggles, module configuration, user security profile, and the navigation context from which the page is opened.

What Controls Tab Visibility?

Tab visibility is determined by six independent mechanisms, which may combine for a single tab:

Settings

Value ID: Settings | User Control: Properties_ProgramManager.ascx

Displays and edits core project settings including the Program Manager assignment. This tab acts as the primary configuration panel for project metadata. It contains the largest set of conditional fields on the Properties page — see the Settings Tab — Field Reference section below for full details.

Visibility Conditions:

• User Role (Profile): Only visible to users with Profile ID 40 (Project Manager / Admin). Users with lower-privilege profiles do not see this tab.

• Project Wizard Mode: Hidden when the Project Wizard (wizardOn) is active.

Details

Value ID: Details | User Control: Properties_ProjectDetails.ascx

A legacy view of project details. Provides backward-compatible access to an older project details layout available in earlier versions of Cora PPM.

Visibility Conditions:

• Project Configuration: Only visible when Show Old Project Details is enabled in Project Configuration (ProjectConfig.ShowOldProjectDetails = true). Disabled by default in new installations.

Project Information

Value ID: Info | User Control: Properties_Info.ascx

Contains supplementary project information, including media and external links for showcasing projects in portals or dashboards.

Visibility Conditions:

• Data Presence: Hidden when no project information record exists for the project (projInfo is null).

• Featured Project (checkbox)

• Featured Picture (Image URL)

• Text for Featured Picture

• Picture Details (Slideshow URL)

• Flickr Account ID

• Project Link 1, 2, 3 (URLs)

Organisations

Value ID: ORG | User Control: Properties_Organisations.ascx

Manages the organisational units or departments associated with the project.

Visibility Conditions:

• Module Configuration: Requires the Organisations module to be configured (IsConfigured: Organisations = true).

• Project Wizard Mode: Hidden when the Project Wizard is active.

• Customer Restriction: Not shown for Honeywell-licensed instances.

• Ownership / sponsorship links

Strategies

Value ID: STRAT | User Control: Properties_Strategies.ascx

Links the project to strategic objectives, allowing organisations to track how projects contribute to strategic goals.

Visibility Conditions:

• Module Configuration: Requires the Strategies module to be configured (IsConfigured: Strategies = true).

• Project Wizard Mode: Hidden when the Project Wizard is active.

• Customer Restriction: Not shown for Honeywell-licensed instances.

KPIs

Value ID: KPI | User Control: Properties_KPIs.ascx

Defines and tracks Key Performance Indicators for the project.

Visibility Conditions:

• Module Configuration: Requires the KPI module to be configured (IsConfigured: KPI = true).

• Project Wizard Mode: Hidden when the Project Wizard is active.

Priorities

Value ID: Pri | User Control: ScopePriorities.ascx

Manages scope priorities for the project. Allows categorisation and ranking of deliverables by priority.

Visibility Conditions:

• Configuration Flag: Only visible when showPriorities evaluates to true. Driven by system-level scope/priority configuration.

Dependent Projects

Value ID: DEP | User Control: Properties_Dependencies.ascx

Shows and manages dependencies between this project and other projects in the portfolio. The tab label is dynamically localised (e.g. "Dependent Projects").

Visibility Conditions:

• Inter-Project Linking Setting: Hidden when Inter-Project Linking is set to Disabled in Project Configuration (ProjectConfig.InterProjectLinking = Disabled). Visible when set to Enabled or any non-Disabled mode.

Planned Resources Usage

Value ID: RES | User Control: Properties_Resources.ascx

Displays planned resource consumption for the project, including fixed resource allocations over time.

Visibility Conditions:

• Project Configuration — Consumed Resources: Requires ProjectConfig.ConsumedResourcesEnabled = true.

• Project Configuration — Fixed Planned Resource: Also requires ProjectConfig.UseFixedPlannedResource = true. Both conditions must be true for the tab to appear.

Skill Costs

Value ID: Skills | User Control: Properties_Skills.ascx

Displays cost breakdowns by skill type. This tab is the predecessor to the Rate Matrix and is hidden when Rate Matrix is enabled.

Visibility Conditions:

• Rate Matrix Feature: Hidden when the RateMatrix feature toggle is ON. When Rate Matrix is active, this tab is replaced by the Rate Matrix tab.

• Charge Out Costs Setting: Hidden if ProjectConfig.ChargeOutCosts is set to Off.

• User Role (Profile): Only visible to users with Profile ID 40.

Fields / Content:

• Skill-based cost entries

• Cost rates per skill type

• Total cost calculations

Facility Costs

Value ID: Facilities | User Control: Properties_Facilities.ascx

Displays cost breakdowns by facility or asset type. Hidden when Rate Matrix supersedes legacy cost tabs.

Visibility Conditions:

• Rate Matrix Feature: Hidden when the RateMatrix feature toggle is ON.

• Charge Out Costs Setting: Hidden if ProjectConfig.ChargeOutCosts is set to Off.

• User Role (Profile): Only visible to users with Profile ID 40.

• Facility cost entries

• Cost rates per facility

• Total facility cost calculations

User Costs

Value ID: Users | User Control: Properties_Users.ascx

Displays cost breakdowns by individual user/resource. Hidden when Rate Matrix is enabled.

Visibility Conditions:

• Rate Matrix Feature: Hidden when the RateMatrix feature toggle is ON.

• Charge Out Costs Setting: Hidden if ProjectConfig.ChargeOutCosts is set to Off.

• User Role (Profile): Only visible to users with Profile ID 40.

Fields / Content:

• Per-user cost entries

• Individual resource cost rates

• Total user cost calculations

Budgets

Value ID: Budgets | User Control: ucProjectBudget.ascx

Manages the project budget, including budget lines, forecasts, and actuals.

Visibility Conditions:

• Navigation Context: Hidden when the page is opened in modal/popup mode (ShowClose parameter present) or when accessed from the Project Summary view (fromProjSumm parameter present).

• Standard View: Visible in the standard project properties view.

Key Activities

Value ID: Activities | User Control: Properties_KeyActivities.ascx

Displays and manages key activities (milestones or deliverables) for the project.

Visibility Conditions:

• Data Presence: Only visible when at least one non-archived key activity exists for the project (keyActivitiesRepository.AnyNonArchived() = true). If all activities are archived or none exist, the tab is hidden.

Funding Sources (Grant)

Value ID: Grant | User Control: Properties_Grants.ascx

Manages grant and funding source associations for the project. The tab label uses the configured term for "Funding Sources". Note: this is distinct from the newer Funding Source tab.

Visibility Conditions:

• Module Configuration: Requires the Grant module to be configured (IsConfigured: Grant = true).

• Project Wizard Mode: Hidden when the Project Wizard is active.

• Customer Restriction: Not shown for Honeywell-licensed instances.

Fields / Content:

• Funding source details

• Grant amounts and allocations

Cost Book

Value ID: Costbook | User Control: Properties_Costbook.ascx

Provides access to the project cost book — a structured ledger of cost items associated with the project.

Visibility Conditions:

• Feature Configuration: Only visible when the CostBook feature is enabled (FeatureConfig.CostBook = true).

Fields / Content:

• Cost book entries

• Cost categories

• Budgeted vs actual costs

EV Technique

Value ID: EVTechniques | User Control: Properties_EVTechniques.ascx

Configures the Earned Value (EV) technique applied to the project. EVM measures project performance and progress objectively.

Visibility Conditions:

• Always Visible: No configuration flag or permission check. This tab is always shown on the Properties page.

Fields / Content:

• EV technique selection (e.g. 0/100, 50/50, % Complete)

• EV calculation basis

• EV tracking settings

Rate Matrix

Value ID: RateMatrix | User Control: Properties_RateMatrix.ascx

Replaces the legacy Skill Costs, Facility Costs, and User Costs tabs with a unified matrix for managing charge-out rates across multiple resource types.

Visibility Conditions:

• Feature Toggle: Only visible when the RateMatrix feature toggle is enabled. When this feature is ON, the Skill Costs, Facility Costs, and User Costs tabs are automatically hidden.

Funding Source

Value ID: FundingSource | User Control: Properties_FundingSource.ascx

Detailed view of an individual funding source record. Shown contextually when navigating to a specific funding source.

Visibility Conditions:

• Security Permission: Requires the user to have either User Can Read Funding Sources or User Can Edit Funding Sources project security right.

• Navigation Context: Hidden by default. Shown programmatically when navigating to a specific funding source.

Fields / Content:

• Funding source name and reference

• Funding amounts

• Status

• Period allocations

Funding Source Properties

Value ID: FundingSourceProperties | User Control: Properties_FundingSourceProperties.ascx

Displays additional properties and attributes for a selected funding source record.

Visibility Conditions:

• Security Permission: Requires User Can Read Funding Source Properties or User Can Edit Funding Source Properties project security right.

• Navigation Context: Hidden by default. Shown contextually alongside the Funding Source tab.

Funding Source Main Grid

Value ID: FundingSourceMainGrid | User Control: Properties_FundingSourceMainGrid.ascx

A grid view of all funding sources associated with the project, part of the Investment Management feature set.

Visibility Conditions:

• Feature Toggle: Only visible when the InvestmentManagement feature toggle is enabled.

Project Role Hierarchy

Value ID: ProjectRoleHiararchy | User Control: Properties_ProjectRoleHiararchy.ascx

Manages the hierarchical structure of project roles. This is a newer approach to Project Role Management (PRM).

Visibility Conditions:

• Feature Toggle (Primary): Requires the ProjectRoleHiararchy_NewApproachToPRM feature toggle to be ON.

• Admin Grid Configuration: Also requires ProjectConfig.AdminGridID to be configured (not equal to -1).

• Feature Toggle (Replacement): If the newer Update_Project_Role_Hierarchy_Page_01 feature is enabled, this tab is hidden (replaced by an updated version).

Financial Actuals

Value ID: FinancialActuals | User Control: Properties_FinancialActuals.ascx

Displays actual financial data recorded against the project, including costs from integrated financial systems.

Visibility Conditions:

• Always Visible: No feature toggle or permission guard. This tab is always shown on the Properties page.

Settings Tab — Field Reference

The Settings tab (Properties_ProgramManager.ascx) contains the most fields of any tab on the Properties page, and the majority are conditional. Fields appear or are hidden based on module configuration, feature toggles, user roles, project configuration, and live data conditions. This section documents every field and when it is visible.

Fields Grouped by Visibility Mechanism

Role-Based Fields

These fields are only shown to users with specific roles or security rights:

• Project Status (ddlStatus) — Portfolio Manager role required.

• Project Stage (ddlPhase) — Portfolio Manager role or the User_Can_Change_Project_Phase security right required (also requires Project Phase to be enabled in Project Configuration).

Module-Dependent Fields

These fields require a specific licensed Cora PPM module to be configured:

• Timesheet Authorisation (chkAuth) — Advanced Timesheet module. This is the gateway control; the two approval fields below depend on it.

• Second-Level Project Approval (chkSecondlevelProjectApproval) — Advanced Timesheet module with second-level approvals enabled, and chkAuth must also be checked.

• Second-Level Previous Step Approval (chkProjectSecondLevelPreviousStepApproval) — As above.

• EVM % Complete (chkEvmPercentage) — EVM module.

• Invoice Type (ddlInvoiceType) and Project Manager (ddlProjectManager) — Invoicing module OR Advanced Project Forecasting feature.

Feature Toggle–Dependent Fields

These fields are controlled by named feature flags in System Admin → Feature Configuration:

• Revenue Calculation Method (ddlRevenueCalculationType) — Make_Revenue_Calculation_Method_a_Project_Level toggle.

• Override Cadence (chkOverrideCadence) — StatusDateConfigurationSettings toggle.

• Contract Management (ChkContractManagement) — ContractManagement permanent toggle.

• Material Threshold (MaterialThreshold) — BillMaterials feature.

• Financial Mapping (PvFinancialMapping) — CostBook feature OR Account Parent Groups configured.

• Project Exchange Rate (txtProjectExchangeRate) — CostBook feature.

• Task Level Calendars (chkTaskLevelCalendars) — TaskLevelCalendarsEnabled.

Project Configuration–Dependent Fields

These fields depend on settings in System Admin → Project Configuration:

• Project Stage (ddlPhase) — ProjectPhaseEnabled.

• Inter-Project Link Type (ddlInterProject) — InterProjectLinking = true.

• Live Date — LiveDateReadOnly flag determines whether the editable date picker (dpLiveDate) or a read-only display (rOLiveDate) is shown. One or the other is always rendered; they are mutually exclusive.

• Resource Demand Period (ddlResourceDemandPeriod) — EnableFiscalCalendar AND Resource Work In Weeks.

• Freeze Period (ddlfreezePeriod) and PM Technique (ddlpmTechnique) — both require EnableFreezePeriods.

Data-Driven and Runtime Fields

These fields appear only when specific data conditions are met at page load or in response to user interaction:

• Resource Notification Email (trSendEmail) — The project must have ResourceEmailEnabled = true and its Live Date must be in the past (project is live).

• Cost Centre (ddlCostCentre) — At least one Cost Centre record must exist in the repository.

• Set Cadence (ddlSetCadence) — Shown dynamically only when the user checks the Override Cadence checkbox on the same page.

Email Configuration–Dependent Fields

• Task Association Email (chkTaskAssociationEmail) — EmailConfig.TaskAssociationEmail = true in Email Configuration.

Customer-Specific Fields

These fields are rendered only for specific licensed customer instances and will not appear in standard installations:

• VAT Applicable (ddlVatApplicable) — AFBI instances only.

• Global Settings (pnlGlobalSettings) — Bravida instances only.
