Editing Registers

Modified on Mon, 25 Nov, 2024 at 11:23 AM

You can continuously update and save your register and then submit it when you are satisfied all data is correctly entered.

  • Open a record for editing by clicking on the description hyperlink.  In the following example it is “Review current plans and raise with Board…”.

This opens viewing pane where you can make your changes/updates.

  • Save and Submit

In-line Editing

To edit the records in the grids, click the Edit button.

This puts the cells in the grid into edit mode.

Once in edit mode, changes can be made to the editable cells in the register.

Note: Cells that have been updated are indicated with a small dot in the top right corner.

Changes to the entries in the grid are not saved until the user clicks SAVE at the bottom of the grid. This allows the user to easily discard any unintentional changes.

Bulk Editing

In addition to being able to edit individual values, you can also update the value for a column across multiple register entries.

There are two ways to bulk update:

  • When the grid is in view mode, check one or more of the checkboxes in the first column and then clicking EDIT:

  • When the grid is in in-line edit mode, check one or more of the checkboxes in the first column.

Note: If the user is already in in-line edit mode;  when they enter bulk edit mode the in-line editing is suspended until bulk edits are complete.

Unsaved changes made in in-line editing are not lost but could be overwritten by changes made in bulk edit mode.

The first row of the grid displays the editable fields.

To update the value for all the rows in the table:

  • Click on the field to update
  • Set the value
  • Click the green tick to commit the change(s) or to discard the change(s) click the red X.  Cells that have been updated are indicated with a small green dot in the top right corner.
  • Click SAVE at the bottom of the grid to commit the changes.

Note: The description of an item cannot be updated in bulk edit mode as this would result in multiple identical entries

Note: Register fields that have visibility or editability formulas applied to them, cannot be in-line or bulk edited.

Note: Register entries that are currently in an active workflow cannot be edited in-line or in bulk. This is indicated to the user by greying out the edit boxes and displaying a tooltip.
