Exciting New Capabilities in Cora Release 25.1

Modified on Wed, 2 Apr at 11:29 AM

We're thrilled to kick off 2025 with powerful new features that enhance your PPM experience. This release includes 100+ enhancements and introduces Scheduling Intelligence for smart schedule management, greater visibility into Approval Workflows to prevent delays, streamlined Skill Demand Planning for precise resource forecasting, advanced Gantt Register Integration for instant task insights, and initial deliverables on our Earned Value Management roadmap.

This is just the first of our quarterly releases planned for 2025—each quarter, we'll deliver new capabilities designed to continually support your success.

Scheduling Intelligence

This year, we’re excited to introduce new scheduling modeling techniques and advanced analysis features that give schedulers greater control, accuracy, and insight into project timelines.

These improvements will roll out over multiple releases, beginning with Scheduling Intelligence in 25.1. This integrates smart automation into the scheduling software, proactively conducting system calculations, analyses, and detecting irregularities.

One key feature is out-of-sequence logic detection, which alerts users when tasks are scheduled to start or finish before their predecessors. This helps avoid sequencing errors, keeping schedules accurately aligned with project deadlines.

Additional enhancements streamline the user experience, including full-screen scheduling, a "go-to" feature for quickly locating tasks, and task audit history. Improved tracking capabilities provide transparency and accountability, essential when collaborating on projects.

Building on recent additions like free slack and task-type parameters, these updates enable comprehensive schedule analysis, reinforcing Cora as your trusted single source of truth. Schedulers can confidently manage and evaluate schedules in detail, driving project success from start to finish.

Approval Workflow Visibility

You can now easily get to the detail of what is happening in approval steps at any given moment. With the enhanced Approval Workflows and project workflow report, quickly pinpoint which approvers are outstanding and whether a delegate is involved. This improved visibility eliminates the need for overly complex configurations, simplifying your processes and ensuring critical tasks stay on schedule.

Skill Demand Planning

Adding skills to your projects and planning resources is now even easier. Quickly forecast skill demand and instantly see overall project costs. Seamlessly push skill requirements to resource demand to find the right people.

Now you can enter skill demand by percentage effort—making planning faster and simpler, especially if task durations change. Additionally, planning is now available by week, offering more granular control and better alignment with your project timelines.

Gantt Register Integration

We've strengthened the integration between registers and tasks, giving you greater flexibility and insight. You can now easily configure additional columns directly on your Gantt chart—such as showing the responsible person's name or displaying specific risk information. This improvement provides instant visibility into essential task details right from your Gantt view, helping you stay informed and in control.

Earned Value Management

Cora now includes the full range of Earned Value Techniques within the DoD Earned Value Management System Interpretation Guide (EVMSIG) and the NDIA Earned Value Management Systems EIA-748-D Intent Guide to support DCMA compliance.

The latest release also includes the ability to surface the duration from the latest approved Performance Measurement Baseline (PMB), as the current Baseline Duration, on the Gantt. Visualizing the current schedule task duration difference to the approved task duration acts as an early indicator of schedule variances that may impact the project timeline.

Cora’s comprehensive roadmap for EVM will allow customers to move away from legacy systems and benefit from a single integrated product for cost, schedule and change management needs.
