Cora PPM provides a rich suite of financial reports that allow portfolio managers, programme managers, and project managers to analyse, compare, and export financial data across projects and programmes. These reports are built around the Financial Management module (also called Enterprise Financials) and sit within the broader reporting framework of the platform.
What "Financial Data" Means in Cora PPM
Financial data in Cora PPM is structured around five core data types. System administrators can enable or disable each type.
Financial Data Type | Description |
|---|---|
Estimate (Cost Estimation) | The initial or latest cost estimate for a project. |
Budget | The planned budget, saved or approved. |
Forecast | The expected cost to completion, such as latest, first approved, or last approved. |
Actuals | Money already spent. |
Commitments | Purchase orders or contractual obligations not yet paid. |
Each data type can be captured across multiple iterations, which are saved snapshots over time. This enables historical tracking and comparison.
Financial Report Families
Report Family | Purpose | Examples and Outputs |
|---|---|---|
Classic Financial Reports | Older-generation reports built on the project cash-flow and task-cost data model. | Basic Financial Report (FMS), Expenditure Profiling, Cash-Flow Profile, and Financial Analysis Report. These show planned vs. actual or committed spend, support drill-down into operational/account codes, and export to Excel or Word. |
Enterprise Financial Management (FM) Reports | Newer reports tied directly to the Financial Management module. | Financial Mgt-prefixed reports and Financials – Data Export. These support multi-project, multi-account, multi-iteration analysis, variance/comparison columns, profiling by year or period, and comprehensive Excel export. |
Several multi-purpose reports also include optional financial sections, including the Summary Report, Project Report Builder, Portfolio Report, Report Builder / rptProjectDetails, and Management Analysis Report.
Prerequisites and Setup
Financial Management module: Must be enabled in System Configuration. If it is not enabled, financial reporting elements and financial report pages will not be visible.
Financial data type visibility: Estimate, Budget, Forecast, Actuals, and Commitments availability is controlled in Financial Management Configuration display flags. Only enabled types appear in report dropdowns and swap lists.
Financial year start month: January = 1 or April = 4. This setting affects how period ranges are calculated in all Enterprise Financial reports.
Multi-currency: Must be enabled in System Configuration for currency selection controls to appear in reports.
