What is Report Builder?

Report Builder is Cora PPM's self-service, ad-hoc reporting screen. It assembles a custom report from your live project data: you choose what to report on, which sections to include, how to filter it, and how to sort it, then run it on screen or export it to Excel.

It's reached from a project's Project Home page, under the Saved Reports panel. Unlike a fixed, pre-built report, every field on the Report Builder screen is a choice you make: report on a project, an organisation, a strategy, or a KPI; pull in whichever detail sections are relevant; and save the combination for anyone to re-run later exactly as configured.

In short: Think of it as building your own report template on the fly — no developer, no support ticket — scoped to precisely the data you need, and reusable the next time you need it.

Why Use It?

A canned report is either too broad or missing the one field you need. Report Builder is built to close that gap.

  • Self-service — Assemble your own data cut without waiting on IT or a report that almost fits.

  • Always current — Every run reads the live project data, so there's no stale copy to second-guess.

  • Repeatable — Save a configuration once and re-run it whenever you need a refresh.

  • Precisely scoped — Headings, filters, and sort order are user-controlled.

  • One tool, four report shapes — The same screen builds Project, Organisation, Strategy, and KPI-centred reports.

FAQ

Question

Answer

Can I export to PDF instead of Excel?

No — Report Builder's export is Excel only.

Can I schedule a report to run and email itself automatically?

Not from this screen. Reports run on demand when you click Run; save the configuration so re-running it later takes one click.

I don't see KPIs, Benefits, or Vendors as heading options — why?

Report Builder only offers sections that are enabled for your tenant. Ask your Cora administrator if you expect to see one that's missing.

Who can see a report I save?

This depends on your tenant's configuration and permissions setup. Check with your Cora administrator if you need wider visibility.

Why did a new field appear after I picked a heading?

Some headings need one more piece of scoping, such as how many days ahead to look or how many prior baselines to pull.

My report needs data from several projects at once — can Report Builder do that?

Yes — the picker supports selecting multiple projects, organisations, strategies, or KPIs, depending on report Type.
